"The first step to aging well is knowing how well you're aging"

It is not enough to assume that because a particular intervention (e.g. HRT, a supplement, or even exercise) to improve your health or slow down aging has worked in a clinical trial it will work in you.  You need to know how well it is working in you. How do you know it's working in you?  Biomarkers of physiological function can tell you!

PhysioAge Systems uses a battery of extensively tested biomarkers of the health of important physiological systems.  We use them to establish a baseline of where our patients are in the aging process, a "PhysioAge", and then to follow over time how well their programs are working.  This is the crux of the difference between our approach to managing aging and that of most other practices.  Sure, we believe that virtually all perimenopausal women should receive bHRT for symptoms, but we also believe that it is important to continue this therapy to maintain the health of a woman's arteries, brain, bones, skin, and muscle, etc. But instead of just assuming it does, we measure the effect of our programs on all these systems and adjust therapy to optimize each system's function.  After all, would you let your doctor prescribe blood pressure medication if he didn't ever check its effect on your blood pressure?

AtheroAge - Ultrasound CIMT (Carotid Intima-Media Thickness)

  •   Recommended by the Association for the Eradication of Heart Attacks (AEHA) as one of only two screening tests for predicting future heart attack risk.
  • Detects sub-clinical atherosclerosis at the time when further progression can be prevented--long before your stress test is positive--without the radiation exposure of the heart scan

CardioAge - Arterial Stiffness Testing

  •  Assesses your risk of cardiovascular disease
  •  Determines the physiological age of your arteries

CorpoAge - Body Composition Testing

  •  Measures body fat & lean body mass using bioelectrical impedance
  •  Determines ratio of intracellular-to-extracellular water

CutoAge - Skin Elasticity Testing

  •  Assesses the elasticity of the skin with the same instrument used in numerous clinical trials of anti-aging skin cream
  •  Determines the propensity to develop wrinkles by measuring elasticity, firmness, and resistance to stress

PulmoAge - Pulmonary Function Testing

  •  Measures maximum forced expiratory volume (FEV1)
  •  Measures small airway flow as a screen for early pulmonary disease

OsteoAge - Bone Mineral Density Scan

  •  Measures your propensity to develop osteoporosis using the latest GE LUNAR DEXA Scanner.

 NeuroAge - Cognitive Assessment Testing

  •  Measures age-sensitive aspects of cognitive function using our proprietary software
  •  Can help determine risk for developing Alzheimer's

TelomerAge - Telomere Length Measurement

  • Measures the length of the telomeres, the caps at the ends of the chromosomes that act as a molecular clock by shortening with every cell division

  • Telomere shortening is highly correlated in numerous studies with aging and many disease states

ImmunoAge - Immune Function Testing

  • Measures the health of the immune system using proprietary algorithms of standard immune subsets

  • Utilizes cutting-edge molecular markers for senescent and naïve T-cells
